The other associate promptly responds with “Say what?!?” It is one of those funny local car dealership TV commercials that everyone loves.

This TV commercial is from Powers Swain Chevrolet. Even though you live in Raleigh, Durham or Chapel Hill when you say this commercial, it is important to note that Powers Swain is in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In 2019 we will finally see a redesigned BMW 3 series. It has been seven years since the last redesign and millions of 3 series have been sold on new and used car lots. As with all vehicles, a new model means tens of thousands of new buyers. The new 3 series is sleeker and, as to be expected, is the most innovative and advanced model ever. Admittedly, it is a great looking vehicle.

Unfortunately, with the new model comes higher prices and higher demand. It will be unlikely that buyers will be able to talk dealerships down a significant amount. Instead, dealerships will sit on their inventory as they know buyers are willing to special order this new car if there isn’t a color or trim they desire on their lot.

As with anything else in life, the higher the demand, the higher the price. The base price of the 2019 BMW 3 Series is going to be around $40,000 to $45,000 depending on the model. The 320 will be the cheapest and the 340i the most expensive. Do not be fooled into thinking that these cars are going to “go quick” and will be off the lot when you walk away.

Car salesmen and saleswomen are trained to be in the moment. They want you to believe that when you walk off the BMW lot, that another person will walk in and buy the 3 series you just took for a test drive. This is simply not the case as there will always be another 3 series available.

While many dealerships are having end of year blowout sales it should come as no surprise that used BMW 3 series are seeing a huge drop in price. With the new body coming out in the next few months, the old body style will not be attractive.

Now might be the time for you to purchase a used BMW 3 series. Look at the 2016 and 2017 models with less than 30,000 miles. You are going to get plenty of warranty on this car and you are going to get one of the best luxury vehicles on the road. While your friends may be spending $650 a month on a new 3 series, you can fork over $15,000 and get a used 3 series that is almost as good for a third of the cost.

If you are waiting for the brand new body style for the Jeep Grand Cherokee you are going to have to wait until the 2020 models. com out. The new body style for the Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available to the public in 2020. That means 2019 will be the last time you can get the current body style. If you hope to get the best of your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland it might be best to wait until the 2020 models come out so you can get it cheaper. Here is a review of the 2019 model:

Note that the 2019 Jeep Cherokee and the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee are two different vehicles. You will find that the Jeep Cherokee is a smaller SUV or, more widely known, as a compact SUV. We have also seen remodels of trucks like the 2020 Nissan Frontier and they come in a more compact “package”. Look for this out of the new and improved Ford Ranger as well. Do not be surprised to see every automaker offering a smaller versions of some of their bigger trucks and SUVs.

It tends to be the case there are two types of car buyers. The type that wants the biggest and most powerful vehicle and those that want the more affordable and fuel efficient vehicle. Before buying that $55,000 SUV or truck remember that it will cost even more when it comes to repairs, gas and oil changes.

If you have been watching TV in October or November of 2018, you have likely seen the Bryan Cranston (Walter White/Heisenberg) Ford Truck commercial. Throughout much of the commercial there is a piano song playing in the background. This is a song almost all of us know but cannot place a finger on what it is. Many diehard Westworld fans immediately went to the Internet to talk about the fact that Ford chose the Westworld Paint it Black on piano rather than the Paint it Black version by The Rolling Stones. Either way, The Rolling Stones are making money on all of this.

It looks as if other car makers are going to have to step up their games if they want to challenge Ford for the best TV commercial this fall and winter. America loves Ford, Walter White and Westworld. When you add all three together, you have an amazing marketing campaign. Do you think foreign car makers like Honda, Toyota, Hyundai or Kia will be able to come up with something as brilliant? With people watching more TV in the winter months, we are sure to see some interesting car and truck TV commercial.

If you have watched TV in the last few weeks, you have likely noticed the new Walter White (Bryan Cranston) Ford Truck commercial. It is a very good commercial that depicts the “future”. We get to see Cranston on a private plane, at a laboratory and as a clone or Westworld host. We also get to see the next Ford Mustang, the Fordpass app and, of course, the 2019 Ford F-150 Built Ford Tough Truck. Here it is:

This is, by far and away, the most popular car or truck TV commercial out these days. To have Walter White, Heisenberg (Bryan Cranston), the song Paint in Black from the Westworld TV show and the look of a Westworld scene in the commercial is huge. It will be interesting to see if Nissan, Chevy or Dodge can find a way to challenge this successful TV promotion.

So far, we have seen it on ESPN during college football, CBS during Alabama vs LSU and on the Golf Channel during a few different golf tournaments. Those that follow NASCAR know that Nissan and Dodge will make their way into the sport in 2020. We will likely see a Dodge Charger SRT8 winning races in a few years. Expect to see Brad Keselowski in the #2 Dodge again. He won the championship back in 2012 driving a Dodge.

We won’t be seeing the NASCAR boys sprinting around the track in a Dodge Viper  but it will be fun to see Dodge back on the NASCAR tracks in 2020. There were some rumors that we could see Dodge in 2019, but that is not going to happen.

Do you think there is any chance that Dodge can win a race in 2020? If Brad Keselowski can get the feel of the old Dodge and race like he did back in 2012, one would imagine he could win a couple of races in 2020.

Unfortunately, with NASCAR now being a sport that is throughout the United States, it is not as easy for those living in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia to go to all the races. In the 1980s and 1990s thousands of fans would go to every single race as they were all in the southern states.

The trips to North Wilkesboro, Rockingham, Richmond, Darlington and Bristol were not that difficult. Now, you would have to fly to Phoenix, Las Vegas and even California. It is interesting to see how the sport has changed over the last two decades. Whether you like it or not, NASCAR is never going to be the same. It will be nice to see Dodge back on the track but it won’t be on the track at The Rock or in North Wilkesboro. It is very sad to see these racetracks in such disrepair since NASCAR decided to take their fans elsewhere.

 

If you are considering a pickup truck, you are likely considering a 2019 or 2018 Chevy Silverado. Before making any major purchase decision, it is best to do as much research as possible. Note that Labor Day and Veteran’s Day weekend offer some of the best sales opportunities. You will be able to likely get some extremely low financing and even $10,000 off during the holiday sales events. Keep this in mind before going to a Chevy dealership and paying the sticker price.

There are a few changes with the 2019 Silverado but the most notable are the trims.

“Eight trims are offered on this year’s Silverado, but some get replaced with new options in the 2019 model. New trims include the LT Silverado Trail Boss, RST, and Custom Trail Boss. Trail Boss models are equipped with off-road equipment, including a specially tuned suspension, greater ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and skid plates. The RST shows off sporty looks with body-color trim, LED lighting, and available 22-inch wheels. ”

In 2018 and 2019 you can expect to see Silverado trucks that are in excess of $50,000 on car lots. With this much money being spent, there is no reason to feel as if you are obligated to buy a specific truck. Many car salesmen and saleswomen will try to make you feel guilty for not buying a truck from them. They will make you think they have put in all this hard work to find the right truck for you yet you are not going to make a purchase. Do not fall for this ploy. It happens every day and you have no reason to feel bad. Their job is to find a truck for you. Your job is not to buy a vehicle from them.

If you feel somewhat apprehensive about making a purchase, just walk away. You can always go back. Do not fall for the trick that the truck will be gone the next time you visit a car dealership. They can always find you the same truck somewhere else if they sell that particular truck. There is no reason to be pressured into buying a 2019 Chevy Silverado. You may also consider a used Chevy truck as you can save quite a bit of money buying a used vehicle.

If you watched the first episode of Westworld Season 2 you noticed the awesome cars they were driving throughout the park. This is the first times we have actually seen futuristic or robotic vehicles in the show. This is what they look like:

It is safe to say these are not available to buy on a car dealership lot in 2018. That said, there are a few places in which you could customize a vehicle to look like this.

If you have been to a car dealership to purchase a vehicle in the last several years, you have likely had to provide your driver’s license. If a driver’s license isn’t required to buy a car why does a car salesperson always want to make a copy of your license?

The reason they often do this is to get your personal information such as your address and date of birth. If you are financing a vehicle at a car dealership, they are also going to ask for your social security number. They cannot run a credit check without your SSN.

One way to avoid the question of “can I see your driver’s license?” is to buy a vehicle from a private seller. Anyone selling a vehicle on Craigslist or in a classified ad in a newspaper does not care about your driver’s license. In fact, it is almost a guarantee they will never ask.

You may also be able to save a lot of time and money by purchasing a vehicle from a private seller. They will not try to sell you on insurance or upgrades. They will not push a maintenance package and they surely do not want to finance your vehicle for you. In the long run, if you are someone that is good under the hood, buying a car on Craigslist is always a solid option.

If you do not desire to give up your valid driver’s license when buying a car, know that you do not have to. Most dealers will want you to because it is necessary to have a valid driver’s license to actually drive the car off the lot. Keep this in mind when you are vehicle shopping in the next few months.
