If you are from Clayton, North Carolina you know just how much it has grown over the last several decades. What was once a very small North Carolina town is now an extension of Garner and Raleigh. These types of dealerships do not have the maintenance staff that a Ford Dealership has; nor do they have the inventory. While they may be able to get you something close to what you are looking for, they won’t be able to special order the color and trim you desire.

Do not feel as if driving 100 miles round trip is a waste of money. Most of the time, this trip ends up being well worth it because you can use it as leverage when trying to negotiate a lower price for an F150 or Expedition. You can tell Kenly Ford that Capital Ford is willing to offer you the same vehicle for $2000 less. Most of the time, they will be willing to negotiate with you to meet or match the price. If you live 50 miles away they may beat the price because they know you have to drive to get the vehicle.

When it comes to trade ins or getting money for your current vehicle, this is something else you will have to consider when it comes to working with different dealerships. It may be the case that Classic Ford wants to give you $14,000 for your trade in while Performance Ford is willing to give you $15,500. When all is said and done, you want the loan amount to be the lowest possible number to save you money.

Not only do you want the  loan amount to be the lowest possible number, you also want the interest rate to be as low as possible. Many used car dealerships are not willing to give you the 1.9% or 2.9% interest that a new car dealership is willing to give you. This is something to consider before making a decision to buy from a used car dealer in Clayton, North Carolina.

Note that there are dozens of Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Toyota and Nissan dealerships within an hours drive. If you can save a few thousand dollars by negotiating at a dealership that is 50 or 100 miles away, it is well worth it.

If you travel south on 795 to NC 117 you will make your way into Clinton, North Carolina in less than an hour from Pikeville. This is where you will find a number of great dealerships including Performance Ford and Performance CDJR (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram). With these dealerships being less than 50 miles away, they will be a great way to compare prices with other car dealerships near Pikeville, NC. The best advice we can give is to get a quote from three or four dealerships before deciding on an amount you are willing to pay for a vehicle. Once you do this, you can shop around and look at a number of options.

Let’s say you are shopping for a used Ford F150 and are willing to spend $30,000. If you are in Pikeville, NC, look at your options and figure out what options are available before signing anything. Once you sign, you are going to have to start paying on that vehicle and could end up losing money as soon as you drive it off the lot.

If a car dealership is reluctant to let you look at the Carfax it is time to walk away and go to another dealership. There are way too many great car dealerships to deal with a sketchy one that is trying to sell you a Hurricane Harvey flood car.

If you are thinking about buying a used car on Craigslist  you would be well advised to do your research on flood cars. Even if you are in Virginia or North Carolina, vehicles can travel across country very quickly; especially if someone knows they can make $5000 or more.
